Dear Colleagues and Friends,

 

Welcome to the 7th Serbian Biomarker Symposium-SERBIS 2022: PREVENTION IN FOCUS, which will take place in Hotel Hilton Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, on March 17-18th, 2022. The past two years have been challenging for everyone, but you, our valued SERBIS community, have once again demonstrated your unwavering trust, strength, solidarity and unity. After that period, of not being able to meet face-to-face, we are impatient and excited to feel the atmosphere of a live meeting again in a warm and collegial environment. SERBIS 2022 will, undoubtedly, continue its tradition as a most prominent meeting in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine in Serbia, fusing practically oriented scientific information, interaction with keynote speakers, intensive exchange of experience, and access training opportunities in the form of workshops and roundtable discussion. Also, it will offer you the opportunity to initiate new projects that drive progress.

 

The SERBIS 2022 covers very current topics and highlights the importance of prevention. It is the time that we shifted our attention from treating illness toward prevention. Preventing future illnesses and preventing complications from existing conditions are vital to improving health, reducing health related expenditure and ensuring the future sustainability of health systems.

 

Through 10 scientific sessions, SERBIS 2022 will highlight prevention of cardiovascular disease, diabetes type 2, obesity, cancer, mental disorders, and oral diseases. food allergy osteoporosis, preeclampsia. An unavoidable hot topic will be dedicated to immunization as a cornerstone of public health policy. Very interesting lectures will be dedicated to pharmacogenetic testing in preventing drug adverse events and prevention antibiotic resistance. Special focus will be on recommendations and biomarkers in the field. SERBIS 2022 will have seven Industry Symposiums. The participation is confirmed by 36 local and 15 invited speakers from 9 countries.

 

Following the previous successful international symposiums, this symposium will be arranged to bridge clinical and laboratory work, emphasizing the importance of teamwork of healthcare professionals and all those involved in prevention of different diseases with special focus on the current burden of chronic conditions, covering public health, primary care, secondary prevention, etc.
